Your hospitality was top-notch!
Your home and hospitality were the perfect combination for our summer family vacay! We have had the best week exploring and following Leslie's itinerary and food recommendations. Some of our favorites were Olympic National Park, Hoh Rainforest, Ruby Beach, Deception Falls and the German village at Leavenworth. The waffle cones at Whistlepunk were probably the best we've ever had (and we are ice cream lovin’ family)! We saw the Mariners beat the Red Sox Saturday night. The atmosphere at the game was so fun, and Gus [the great blue heron] hung around most of the week. We have enjoyed watching him and the boating on the lake. Again ,your hospitality was top notch! Back to wild wonderful West Virginia we go.

This is truly a magical place.
Thank you for sharing Blue Heron Lakehouse with us! This is truly a magical place. You are both extraordinary hosts, and the loving attention given to each and every detail in this home is beyond measure. Our favorite part of this trip was simply sitting in various places around the property and enjoying the spectacular garden and all the wildlife that visits it. We are avid birdwatchers and were thrilled to discover some of the best birdwatching we’ve ever experienced from the living room window. We look forward to our next visit!

Our family had such a wonderful time at your home! We cannot express how perfect a setting this was for a week, and especially for our family get-together on Saturday. We especially enjoyed your wide variety of games and activities on the lake, as well as relaxing in your gardens. Truly our only regret is that our time here had to end. Brian and Leslie could teach a master’s class on being exceptional hosts. The view, the home and the hosts were all exceptional. There are beautiful views from every intimate seating area surrounding this property. Inside, there are several lovely areas for family gatherings. Leslie’s kitchen is better equipped than mine at home. They had some incredible restaurant recommendations as well. Our most favorite place was Fins Bistro across the lake.

This home has the best views, and the host is so very accommodating. If you thought the pictures were beautiful, wait ‘til you see it in person. We were in awe and had the best time here. The location was perfect. Far enough from the busyness of the city yet close enough to visit. The house has everything!! We wish we could just live there. I’d love to bring my family back as this would be a great place for a family reunion and the children would love it. There’s so much to do and so much room. We absolutely loved our stay and our host! If you’re on the fence about booking it, just do it and thank me later.

Your home is amazing! Came here for family vacation that turned ito a wedding and it couldn’t have been a more perfect venue. Family from Washington, California and Arizona came out to a snowfall wedding against the lake backdrop with a newly renovated home—what a treat! Your home had everything we needed, all the amenities of a hotel and ample parking. Thank you for sharing your home with us, we couldn’t ask for better hospitality!

Brian & Leslie are such amazing hosts. Not only is their home beautiful and wonderfully prepared for home cooking and outdoor adventure, their guide to the local area and their thoughtfulness in your personal experience is outstanding! We were going to arrive during an ice storm and so they moved around their schedule to make our check-in time earlier pro-actively! Who does that! We had home-cooked meals every day with a wonderfully organized kitchen, and game nights every night. Their home also has such a bright energy that our entire group felt like it was the best Airbnb and vacation we have ever had. As we headed out, we discussed how magical this trip has been. There could have been no better way to bring in the New Year! If you’re able to book this - 100% recommend! We’re definitely planning a summertime trip back.

What a beautiful home and gorgeous setting this is!
Our family is from all over the Seattle area, but Chris and I live in Singapore. After two years of not being able to come home, we finally made it back for the holidays! What a beautiful home and gorgeous setting this is! We are truly blessed to spend time at this home, and we cannot wait to experience this again during the warm summer months! The house was a perfect retreat for our conference!
Brian and Leslie were very accommodating and great hosts. Myself and two other adult chaperones brought 6 students to the house for a retreat while attending a virtual conference. The property had plenty of space for us to all spread out and work during the days. At night we had a wonderful time doing a virtual cooking class in the large kitchen, hanging out around the firepit, and watching movies in the living room. It was a wonderful, relaxing experience all around!

What a wonderful time we had!
Arriving from different directions, coming from California, Germany and even Seattle, the Lienhard family gathered at the lake house to spend the holiday, and what a wonderful time we had! The setting the lake house provided: a stunning view of the lake, the elegant and comfortable house itself, the garden in the fall, the duck families on the lake, the chubby squirrels and the birds in the trees, and of course the season’s rain, while listening to holiday music throughout the house ... all our family had to do was to cook the perfect turkey dinner (a breeze in this kitchen), set the table and gather around. We look forward to coming back! Many thanks to you, Brian and Leslie!

There’s a feeling of privacy and serenity here that made us all relax.
My family and a few of our friends had a getaway here, and it was so relaxing, we felt immediately at home. There was so much for everyone to enjoy!. The view out over the lake and mountains from the kitchen and living room is absolutely dreamy, and we loved all the fall colors in the gardens. We were thrilled to find a vacation rental kitchen that goes far beyond what we usually find. They had absolutely everything we could possibly think of needing. We had fun watching movies on the big-screen TV, exploring with the kayaks, playing cornhole and sitting around the fire table with a few fantastic reds from our day trip to Woodinville Wine Country, which is so close! Our entire getaway was just so fun and easy thanks to the best hosts ever, Brian and Leslie, who made sure we had everything we needed and gave us great local recommendations for restaurants and fun things to do with the kids. We made lifetime memories and look forward to our next visit!

They were very accommodating and went above and beyond to provide helpful information and suggestions to make the stay great. The place was fun, clean and had all of the necessities for a weekend with a large group. We played, cooked, and explored. This was definitely the perfect place for our families to gather in the Seattle area.

McLaughlin Counseling “Team MC” came from Denver, Colorado to attend a social work conference in Bellevue. By far the best part of our trip has been soaking in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and Blue Heron Lakehouse!!! The home is beautifully appointed with every detail carefully thought through. Those in the bunk room experienced super comfortable mattresses, and the cool phone/reading light. Those in the media room loved the Sub-zero fridge, TV set up and amazing shower. Those in the garden room loved the huge bed and the garden privacy. Those in the patio suite loved the seclusion of the space. Those in the master suite loved the beautiful view and the extra special bathroom. And those in the lakeview room loved the lake view—imagine that! Together we loved cooking together, hot tubbing, dips in the lake, kayaking/canoeing, listening to music throughout the space, playing board games and setting up yummy spreads in the boat house. Our mother nature was good to us! Beautiful weather every single day!!! Thank you to Brian and Leslie for creating such a lovely, therapeutic space for groups to enjoy connecting, renewing and celebrating. Thanks for fighting to keep it going, too. We will be back. Not sure when or how, but we have our sights set on coming together here again.
